For the last decade, Alfreð Drexler has been a shadowy figure operating behind the scenes in Reykjavik’s rap and electronic world. But finally he is stepping out of the darkness with his debut solo release, "Drexler’s Lab".
Establishing himself both as an OG and one of the most exciting up-and-coming voices in Iceland’s electronica scene, Drexler’s Laboratory spans a wide range of genres and moods; from trip-hop and downtempo to trap, ambient and IDM. But Drexler constantly keeps it fresh and consistent with a lush, groovy and thoughtful sound. Perfect for your tropical sojourn, late night drive or come-down from the afters.
Drexler’s Laboratory is the second release to come from Heavy Knife, the label owned by Drexler's long-time collaborator Lord Pusswhip. Drexler and Pusswhip are also known for their side-project Psychoplasmics, which inspired many people early on with its DIY attitude, both in the Icelandic underground and the world of internet-savvy SoundCloud goblins.
